Hacks For Better Time Management
There's been a welcomed lull in my number of coaching clients as engagements moved to completion. I’m no longer ping ponging from one thing to another at top speed; finally able to see clearly all the projects that I had pushed off to the side, now needing my attention. Responding to projects rather than reacting.
For the most part, I’m naturally productive though can find myself sometimes overwhelmed; usually brought on by saying YES to too many things!! I’m aware that some of how I managed my time this past year was because of my “entrepreneurial unknowns” let’s call them; perhaps driven by moments of fear of scarcity which led to taking on too much. I’ve embraced this recent lull with an abundant mindset and the coaching referrals have started to appear again. They always do…
The biggest thing I've landed on was how I managed my time this past year is not going to be sustainable for the long run. “KT – you cannot roll into 2023 with the same time management habits as 2022…” The taste of burnout showed up too many times for my liking.
Here are a few hacks I’m beginning to (re) implement to get me on track for managing my time much better:
~ Time blocking – Dedicated days for coaching and projects each week
~ Set daily and weekly project goals
~ Prioritizing tasks wisely; urgent vs important vs non-important
~ Delegation of things I don’t need to take on and provide support/guidance instead
~ Set time limits while working on projects so that I stay more focused; I’m the Queen of ping-ponging!!
~ Permission to take breaks (sometimes I forget…)
And, simply planning ahead each week, carving out time for the non-work related things that are more my priorities.
